Garn Walker Clinic Nov. 3rd, 2005 @ 11:41 am
Is anyone going to the Garn Walker clinic at Christine Nava's barn? I'm taking 2 horses, my mare and a client's gelding. I'm hoping to find someone who is going and would split a hotel with me.

I took some pictures while hanging out in the barn with the horses today.

Just posting a link to my own journal entry... that seems to work best. <3!!!

October Fest!! Oct. 18th, 2005 @ 03:06 pm
So I went down to October Festival on Saturday to show "my" horse Mylo that I sold last year. His owners entered a class they couldn't be there for so they had me ride him. I had such a great time!! He was awesome, definately remembered who I was. His new owner isn't quite as an aggressive rider as I can be, so their trainer wanted me to have him going like and open horse. So I got him more up and infront, but then had to take him in a junior rider class so we didn't place, but the trainer was really happy with the ride. Then that afternoon his owners came because she had a class on him. I got him ready and warmed up for her, then coached her before her class. Got her to push him a little more and not bury her hands in his withers, it was a very noticable difference, she got second!! I was so happy!! Anyways, it was a really great day. Did anyone else go?

Savina (the new weanling) and Chardi (my 13 yr old mare) arrive next friday. Needless to say I am jumping out of my skin with excitement. I am also shocked at the prospect of how many different sizes of tack and equipment Savina will go through before she matures. Where on earth will I buy all that stuff and still afford to feed the monsters?
First things first, I went to the only feed store open on Sundays and bought Savina a royal blue halter and lead rope. It is so exciting to be back in the world of all things Equus! What a great new way to spend what little is left of my money! And I can put on my Jeans, listen to "western music" like Dolly and Emmylou, and chew grass stalks without stirring up the locals too bad.

this is cross-posted...

The lovely Sally is fat. She is getting a handful of pellets once a day and getting fatter but not all over. She looks pregnant, even though the breeding vet palped her and said she isn't bred after 5 months of trying at a special reproduction center in upstate NY. But she looks pregnant. I was talking to the guy who is training and breeding out of our barn and he said he had a mare who was palped twice, both times the vet said not pregnant so he sold the mare and when she was getting her health cert, the vet said she looked pregnant and he palped her and she was 7 and a half months along, so I am crossing my fingers that Miss Sally is in fact in foal to Immortal Command and will be due in May. I'm not getting my hopes up too high because it seems so unlikely but I hope that the mare is in fact bred.

Thanks again to everybody who answered my questions about Raffy's mane. I ended up pulling it a little bit just to even it out & we looked pretty good. ;o)

Hello, I'm new to this community but a long time lover of Morgan horses. I am all jazzed up about re-entering the morgan hunter and dressage circuits with my new filly, Dream Savina.

I am in Boise, ID but neither of the horses are here with me! My project for the month is to get them over here. One from Washington, the other from Oregon. Any suggestions on the long distance hauling of weanling fillies and gimpy mares would be greatly appreciated!

Pics that my boyfriend took of my first time riding Raffy bareback! I've had him for over a year now & never took the opportunity to just hop on his back & go for a ride. Now its my favorite thing & I wanted to share some pics:

Well, our barn set-up and brought horses yesterday, and I went today and gave my mare a bath. She looks so nice. I have two classes tomarrow, I'll be in, Am. Owner any age (huntseat) and Open Hunter. I'm also doing 14-17 Hunter Pleasure. I think it should definately be a good show, all the barn displays look great; especially the colliseum!
